WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU UPGRADE YOUR DEGREE???

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU UPGRADE YOUR DEGREE???

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. Regardless of what is your current position, manager, engineer, supervisor, technician, etc, when did you graduate from your last highest education institution? From that date calculate the no of years that you have spent out of the educational institution. Is it 5, 10, 15 or 20 years ago?

Today, if you’re a master degree, degree or diploma holder nobody can take the right from you to state in your personal resume or any other official that you’re holding that qualification. The issue here is “Are you a real degree holder or a backdated degree holder?”

Technology, knowledge and infrastructure change VERY FAST, to the speed that we never imagine before. With the rapid changes can we cope to the latest development and knowledge? Of course you can but there is always a price to pay. It could be in the form of money, time, effort and necessary facilities. In the basic rules of live, do not try to take something without giving anything. So, when we talk about knowledge the same rules applied.

Nobody can say he/she want to upgrade his/her knowledge but sitting down doing nothing (not putting in the effort). Nobody can even upgrade willingly without necessary facilities. If you are willing to do it and you have the necessary facilities but you do not have the time everything will just go down to ZERO.

So what is the point here, the point is to get knowledge you need these 3 basic items:
EFFORT (money)
FACILITIES
TIME

This could be too superficial for some of us. Let’s be focus. How do we upgrade our knowledge? The basic rules for knowledge upgrade are same as we learn in our class.
Either you see (Seeing the actual object visually or read about it) or hear (it could be presentation, training, radio program) or both see and hear.

Now list down for ourselves which of the below media is used by us on a frequent practice to upgrade our knowledge.
Attend conference on topics related to our field.
Attend comprehensive training/seminars talking about new development.
Read technical/related magazines on new development.
Watch specific TV/Recorded program for new development.
Read related columns in newspaper/other media about new development.

Based on the 3 basic needs (time, money, facilities) which of the option above that you can afford to put your focus since everybody would like to upgrade their knowledge. Besides, we must know how much we can afford.

Remember, these activities have to be on frequent basis not a once a year activity. You cannot catch up the whole year development by attending 7 days seminars. No way. You knew that very well.

The next question to be answered is with the current load of financial and working hours, how much time & money do you have or your company can allocate to fulfill yr needs besides the facilities.

Now are you wondering how others do it? There are a few ways to do it, READING. Do you have the time to read? If the answer go down to NO, I feel very sorry for you but there is still a way to do it if you have no time to go and find and read newspaper, magazines, seminars presentation paper, new bulletin, new journal but you must fulfill this requirement. Do you always work in front of PC? If YES, you can do all that.

With a very small effort (could be down to a few cents), minimum time and facilities you can do all that. Can you guess it? It’s called INTERNET (the source of knowledge).
